Can I Trust You?

If I can’t, then you have no chance of selling me anything—no matter if it’s the best product, the best service, or the best price.

And if you’re my boss, trust is even more critical. Without it, there’s no way I’ll ever be fully engaged or committed to my work. In fact, a massive 45% of employees who leave their jobs do so because of a lack of trust in their employer (Deloitte, Ethics and Workplace Survey).

So, let me ask you—do you trust me?

If I work for you, do you trust me to show up on time, give my best effort, and go the extra mile when needed? Because if you do, chances are, that’s exactly what you’ll get.

But if you don’t—if you assume I’ll slack off, cut corners, or just go through the motions—then you’ll probably get that too.

That’s the power of trust. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
